A few pieces of info I need from you all!

Safehome's fall luncheon - "Home Safe Home" on Thurs, 10/30 from 11:45-1 at the Ritz Charles in OP. Since this is a free luncheon - I would love to get as many of us there as possible.http://safehome-ks.org/SiteResources/Data/Templates/t2.asp?docid=600&DocName=Home%20Safe%20Home%20Luncheon WHO IS IN???

Als0 we really need to beef up our research to narrow down WHAT EXACTLY we want to do. Please find out the following from your organizations. And post your info here on the forum.

-What exactly do you offer to your clients?
-Who are the clients you "recruit" or cater toward?
-How do your clients find you?
-What are the biggest challenges facing domestic violence agencies today?
-Where do you see your org in the future?
-What resources can you share with us to offer to people? Brochures, contact info, times for support groups, etc
-Do you have any interesting facts/stats/stories to share? Something we may not know about DV?
-What is the best way to follow up with you?

Trish: Hope House
Jess: MOCSA
Chelsea: Safehome
Colleen: Synergy
Sara: Kansas City Anti Violence Project
Monica: New House
Kristin: Turning Point (to learn about their start up process)
Ron: KCSDV (Kansas Coalition against Sexual and Domestic Violence)
Jamie: Womens Transistional Care Services in Lawrence, and hopefully you can find out what/if KU offers, maybe thru the health center
Katie: The Crisis Center in Manhattan
Pat: Stepstone
Carly: KS DV Unit - Prosecuters perspective
Cori: Rose Brooks

Also, at a seminar on Friday, I learned about how "Back in the Swing" began. Basically, she was looking for a way to help breast cancer survivors - and decided retail therapy was it! I started thinking that maybe we should instead brainstorm a wonderful fundraiser so that one of the fabulous existing agencies could really put on an awareness campaign that we could potentially advise. Thoughts?? The founder worked with the staff at the Greater KC Community Foundation to make it all come together. I also made great contact with the new Chief Development Officer of Rose Brooks - Steve Devore - and we are having lunch in the next couple weeks!
